Thanks to a generous grant (acquired for buildings only) and a year of very hard work from the staff and volunteers at Alaqua, we showcased our new facility on December 20 at our Holiday Open House. Hundreds of eager visitors came out to enjoy music, food and the companionship of hundreds of animals waiting for homes.

The new facility consists of a new equine barn, six new dog buildings, 2 new cat buildings, four medical and quarantine buildings and renovations to existing areas, such as the farm animal barn and special needs animal housing. If you have not had the opportunity to visit, please bring the family and come out for a tour!  Hours of operation are from noon – 5 pm daily, Tuesdays – Sundays.
